Join us for a joyous night of queer art and community!

Come to the free Smack Dab Queer Open Mic in Greenfield! Want to hear some fabulous queer writing and music? Let’s make queer art and community together!
First Fridays at LAVA, 324 Main Street, Greenfield, MA.
Sign-up at 6:30 & performances start at 7.

Smack Dab was founded in San Francisco in 2003 by writer Kirk Read and queercore historian Larry-Bob Roberts. Kirk wrote How I Learned to Snap: A Small-Town Coming-Out and Coming-Of-Age Story and Larry-Bob founded the queer punk zine Holy Titclamps!
Smack Dab has been held at Magnet, Strut, and Dog Eared Books in the Castro along with Manny's in the Mission. Their motto was "All genders, all the time!" Smack Dab - San Francisco stopped during the start of the pandemic in 2021.
When writer, Avery moved to Western Massachusetts, they missed queer community open mics, so collaborated with Jules to resurrect Smack Dab in Western Massachusetts! Queer joy and creativity is resistance at its finest! Join us!
